MBX Community & Education Culture Guidelines (Updated on 16 September 2026)
 

At MBX, we believe that learning dance is not only about developing skills. It is also about learning Respect, Discipline, Confidence, Responsibility, and Growth.

Our community culture is something we build and protect together, by our teachers, students, and management team.
 

1. Respect Everyone

Respect all teachers, students, and members of the MBX Management Team.

We understand that people may have different opinions, questions, or concerns. Everyone is welcome to express them, but communication should always remain respectful and appropriate.

MBX does not accept verbal abuse, provocation, bullying, humiliation, harassment, intentional targeting, or behaviour intended to hurt another member of the community.
 

2. Keep Our Culture Positive

If you hear something about a teacher, student, or MBX, please avoid spreading or amplifying information before understanding the full situation.

If you have a question, concern, or problem:

Understand first → Communicate first → Seek help from a teacher or the MBX Management Team when needed.

Unverified information should not be allowed to negatively affect the wider community.
 

3. No Exclusion or Unhealthy Cliques

MBX does not encourage exclusion, isolation, intentional targeting, or unhealthy clique behaviour that negatively affects the community.

Everyone who comes to MBX to learn should have the opportunity to feel respected, included, and welcomed.

4. Protect Our Learning Environment

Personal emotions, disagreements, or conflicts should not interfere with another person’s opportunity to learn.

We want MBX to remain a safe, positive, disciplined, and respectful learning environment where everyone can focus on developing themselves.
 

5. Speak Up Early

You do not need to wait until a situation becomes serious before speaking to us.

Problems can be discussed.
Misunderstandings can be clarified.
Conflicts can be resolved.
Mistakes can become opportunities to improve.

If you notice inappropriate behaviour within the community, please speak to a teacher or the MBX Management Team as early as possible.
 

6. Parents & MBX Work Together

Parents are important partners in protecting the MBX community.

If a child experiences a problem, we encourage parents to guide them to:

Communicate first. Understand first. Ask for help when needed.

MBX and parents can work together to support a student’s overall growth — not only their dance skills.

7. When Community Guidelines Are Seriously Broken

MBX will respond to situations involving breaches of our Community Culture Guidelines based on the circumstances and seriousness of each case.

Where behaviour is serious, repeated, or significantly affects other members or the MBX community, MBX may take further action, including:

• Verbal or written reminders and communication

• Guidance or counselling

• Parent communication

• Temporary suspension from classes or activities

• Suspension or termination of membership

• Termination of class or activity participation

If an issue occurs during a class, the teacher may ask the student involved to temporarily stop participating in the class or leave the classroom in order to protect the immediate learning environment.

This does not necessarily mean that a final decision has been made regarding the situation. The MBX Management Team may review the matter further before determining any additional action.

We believe in using dance as a form of education, helping people develop not only as dancers, but also as individuals.

We don’t just teach dance.
